Mr. Gibbs is Principal of the New York based interior design and landscape architecture firm of Jamie Gibbs and Associates. The firm, with branch offices in Indianapolis, IN, and Amsterdam, NL specializes in the creation of personalized interiors, and gardens. The practice is international in its scope, with clients in all parts of the United States, Europe, South America, and the Caribbean. His interior designs span a wide range of architectural styles and tastes, with the philosophy that each design should fit the client.

Mr. Gibbs attended Purdue and Columbia Universities, where he studied Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Historic Preservation and the Decorative Arts in both the undergraduate and graduate levels. He holds five degrees with extensive continuing studies.

Mr. Gibbs' background starts with twenty-six years as an actively practicing landscape architect and interior designer. He first worked for the State of Indiana, Division of State Parks as the Director of Design. From that position, he became associated with an engineering and design firm, Stoeppelwerth and Associates in Indianapolis. Twenty-five years ago, Mr. Gibbs returned to New York and opened his private practice. Since then, he has become a sought after interior designer, landscape architect and author. His work has been featured in many shelter magazines and newspapers such as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, House Beautiful, Women's Day, Traditional Homes, Design Times, Forbes, House and Garden, The Old House Interiors, Garden Design, and industry publications. He has authored two design books and has been featured in over 30 hardcover books. Mr. Gibbs also sat on the Editorial Board at Grace Publishing for over ten years and has been an Adjunct Professor at Parsons School of Design since 1988.

Jamie Gibbs and Associates was nominated in 1999 for the Landmarks Lion Award for the restoration of the lobby and public spaces of 4 East 72nd Street. In June 2003 he was nominated for a National Leadership Award given in Washington at a State Dinner in the White House.

While in the past twelve years, Jamie Gibbs and Associates has participated in over 50 designer showcases and special events for the promotion of the industry, in 2002 Mr. Gibbs concentrated his promotional efforts in a new direction. "The Jamie Gibbs Vintage Collection" of trim was created for D'Kei Inc. He also consulted for Tapestria.com, the high-end fabrics division of Hunter Douglas Corporation. For Bentwood Kitchens, Mr. Gibbs created a signature line of custom cabinetry titled, "The Manhattan Collection by Jamie Gibbs". In November 2003 and December 2004 he created vignettes for Bentwood Kitchens at the Luxury Kitchen and Bath Shows that were widely published. He will be creating a new one for the December 2005 LKBS in Miami.

In December of 2002 and 2003, Mr. Gibbs was an "Honored Visiting Professor" at the International Design School in Moscow, Russia. In 2005, Mr. Gibbs created the dining room décor for the ASID Scarsdale Show House. In 2006 he will be expanding his lecture venues to include the Remodeling Show (October) and NeoCon 2006 (June), both in Chicago, IL.
